OK, ok, so now I know what it is...even better than I originally thought:
In this race, teams of three or more "dogs" pull a "sled" that is guided by a musher. As with any great sporting event, pre-hydration is highly recommended before the start. Once the race begins, barking is encouraged. The teams will regularly stop at designated watering holes to rest their paws. These stops will include both private and public drinking establishments. Although this is not a competition, tradition stipulates that teams move briskly throughout the course. Sounds like a nice little Saturday.

Visiting
Bar Nineteen 12 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Their signature "drink" is a jelly-shot sampler platter. See the picture below and read more in this
LA Times article. I'll be checking out this fine LA landmark very soon. I'll probably bring my own for the bike ride over. It's a dive bar, right?

From top to bottom: Campari and orange juice,
blueberry martini, Rose Champagne with candied
orange peel, vanilla-bean Prosecco, B-52, pear martini,
Manhattan, tequila sunrise, gin and tonic.

(Thanks Isken) I have no idea what it is, except that people in the past say "it was the most fun thing they've ever done". Half of all the entry fees go to the Humane Society. Puppies and day drinking. A match made in puppy heaven.
Watching my friend Joey run the LA Marathon on Sunday.
Rothbury...on sale tomorrow. Woohoo.

I think my neighbor is making matzoh ball soup.
I am also worried about how I will manage to ever get anything (important) done while living in LA.
